Brooke Street Resurfacing and Related Improvements

This project involved reconstruction of Brooke Street (C.R. #2) from Alida Street to Route 22. It included extensive milling, paving, and reconstruction of concrete base slabs in the roadway as well as removal and installation of new curbs and sidewalk. This job also required an in depth traffic control plan ("MPT" Plan) being that the roadway is utilized for ingress and egress to the Bronx River Parkway.
Westchester Avenue Roadway Reconstruction

ELQ Industries, Inc. ("ELQ") was awarded the bid to reconstruct over 2 miles long of two lane Easterly and Westerly bound lanes on Westchester Avenue. In addition to the nighttime milling and paving operations, we removed concrete panels below ground and installed several concrete bus stop lanes as well as concrete curbs and sidewalks.
Kirby Lane Sewer and Drainage Improvements

This project involved the installation of sewer and drainage lines on Kirby Lane North and Grace Church Streets. Many of the drainage excavations were in excess of 20ft which necessitated extensive shoring work in order to protect the laborers working in the trenches below. When the drainage and sewer installations were complete, the roads were milled and paved and asphalt curbs were installed. This project also involved daily coordination with Con Edison who was working on the gas lines in tandem with our work as well as the installation of a state of the art sewer pump station on Grace Church Street.
Lake Street Streetscape

As apart of the reconstruction of Lake Street, the main thoroughfair of West Harrison, ELQ Industries, Inc. ("ELQ") removed and installed new sewer lines, drainage lines and utility services for the thousands of residents of this community. The drainage pipe installed was 72 inches in diameter and comprised reinforced concrete. One of the main purposes of this project was to remove all existing overhead utilities (Verizon, Con Edison, and Cable) and utility poles and install them below ground. This project also involved, the offsetting of water mains, widening of the road, granite curbs, sidewalks and the removal and installation of a new roadway base and asphalt.
Anderson Hill Roadway Rehabilitation

From Interstate 684 to Lincoln Avenue, approximately 1.35 miles, ELQ Industries, Inc. ("ELQ") installed new drainage facilities, reconstructed catch basins and executed milling and paving operations. In addition, ELQ put into place BMB Leasing, Corp.'s new "Power Curber" machine installing approximately eight to nine hundred feet of curb per day as well as constructing new sidewalks.

ELQ Industries, Inc. ("ELQ") worked with County of Westchester in the Repair and Expansion of the Taxiways at Westchester County Airport. The project was completed in several phases to accommodate the increasingly busy private jet traffic that burdens the airport everyday. ELQ milled and paved existing taxiways as well as brought new taxiways up to grade.
Reconstruction of Avondale Road

In addition to the utility work, the entire road was reprofiled which involved installation of concrete curbs and the demolishing of the roadway subbase and installing a new road at a new elevation.

Emergency Repair of Crane Road Bridge Deck – Design Build Project

The Crane Road Bridge is a historically significant bridge designed by the renowned firm of Delano & Aldrich Architects and was constructed in 1924. This Bridge is a concrete structure approximately 600 feet long and 43 feet wide. It carries four lanes of traffic of the Bronx River Parkway and spans the Bronx river and the Metro North Train tracks. The concrete columns and concrete deck were badly deteriorated and two large areas of the deck collapsed requiring emergency repair. ELQ Industries, Inc. ("ELQ") was hired to determine the extent of the immediate damage and in conjunction with the County of Westchester help design and construct the repair. We installed steel plate and beam reinforcements to the existing columns and beams. We then formed and poured a new concrete deck slab. In addition, all the work was done from below the bridge as not to disrupt traffic throughout the project.
Rehabilitation of Paxton Avenue Bridge & Bronx River Parkway Bridges

This project actually consisted of three bridges, the two mainline bridges on the Bronx River Parkway as well as the entrance and exit ramp bridges. The work consisted of wearing surface replacement, deck structural repairs, waterproofing, steel repairs, bridge jacking, bridge bearing rehabilitation and replacement, painting, dredging and rip rap installation.
Rehabilitation of Quaker Ridge Road Bridge

The Quaker Ridge Road Bridge is approximately 150 feet long by 60 feet wide spanning Pine Brook Boulevard and the Sheldrake River. The bridge's wearing surface was badly worn and was therefore removed and replaced. In addition, any other concrete deficiencies were repaired. Various other upgrades were completed: the existing non-conforming parapet walls were removed and new walls were installed; a waterproofing membrane was added; and two new concrete approach slabs were installed and the connecting roadway was milled and repaved.
North Avenue Utility and Pedestrian Bridge

In anticipation of the removal and replacement of the North Avenue Bridge over Interstate 95 a large, heavily used bridge in the heart of downtown New Rochelle, the New York State Thruway Authority contracted with ELQ Industries, Inc. ("ELQ") to install a pedestrian bridge to carry pedestrians and utilities that now use the North Avenue bridge until its removal. In order to achieve this, ELQ reinforced the existing Thruway retaining walls and poured abutment seats to support a new 100 foot by 17 foot prefabricated bridge. When the bridge is in place, telephone, electric, cable, and fiber optic lines will be installed in addition to water and gas mains.
Playland Parkway Bridge Rehabilitation

Playland Parkway Bridge was a two span concrete bridge that carried four lanes of traffic over an estuary of the Long Island Sound. The existing bridge was demolished and rebuilt in two phases. The work consisted of pouring two new abutments and seats and a new center pier. The bridge deck consisted of prestressed concrete beams, waterproofing and an asphalt wearing surface.
Mamaroneck Avenue Bridge Replacement

Mamaroneck Avenue Bridge was a small span single arch bridge that crossed the Sheldrake River that was completely removed and replaced in three phases. Having a span of 50 feet and a width of 60 feet, a Con-Span arch system was chosen in order to speed installation and minimize inconveniences on this very heavily traveled road. It also minimized the time duration that we had to work below the water level, as the Sheldrake River floods at even a modest rainfall. The Con-span system is a complete precast bridge consisting of barrel sections, abutments, parapet and wing walls. These sections were installed on a poured in-place footing. Other aspects of the bridge work including adding a stone veneer, installing sidewalks and a paved roadway in addition to installation of water, telephone and a gas lines.
Armonk Road Bridge

This project was a rehabilitation project on an existing arched bridge. The wearing surface was to be removed as was the arch fill. The existing concrete arch was to be rehabilitated, waterproofed and refilled with light weight fill. The wearing surface was to be replaced and a sidewalk added. This work was to be done in two phases, but since the roadway was to remain active during the construction a third phase was added at the beginning of the project to install a concrete retaining wall to separate the phases so the roadway could be supported.

John A. Passidomo Park

Improvements to 8 sloping acres of undeveloped land adjacent to the recently completed John A. Passidomo Park (featuring a baseball and football athletic fields). This site work phase of the project is preparation for a new community pool, water slides, picnic areas and pool support buildings. The work under includes mass excavation with cut/fill volumes of 80,000 cubic yards, storm water drainage including two (2) underground detention systems and sand filter, gas service, electrical service, and sanitary sewer installation. Three (3) reinforced concrete retaining walls (8,500sq/ft) featuring stone veneer will be constructed along with three (3) modular concrete retaining walls (6,000 sq/ft). A new main entry roadway will be constructed to access the new facility and parking areas. Associated site improvements include sidewalks, site lighting, decorative ornamental fencing and landscaping of the new facility.
Columbus Park Soccer Field

Project:
Columbus Park Soccer Field involved the excavation and installation of drainage for a turf soccer field. Although seemingly basic, this project also involved installation of two 350 linear foot mesa block retaining walls on either side of the field (top-right photo), construction of two bathroom facilities and a storage building.
In order to install the bleachers, it was necessary to excavate approximately 900 cubic yards of mass rock, as well as 650 cubic yards of trench rock.
Kensico Dam Plaza

("Etre") was awarded the bid for this beautification project which involved the installation of brick pavers, landscaping, granite posts and rails, playground safety surfaces, and asphalt walkways throughout the Dam grounds. In addition to this, underground drainage, electrical utilities, concrete pads, and asphalt roadways were installed.
Haindel Field

Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") was awarded the bid for the installation of a state of the art artificial turf. The field accommodates soccer, football, lacrosse and baseball use. Before the field even arrived to the site, Etre performed extensive contaminated remediation, installation of underground drainage, and site grading. Additionally, field lighting was installed as well as bleacher systems.

The work under this contract includes mass excavation for the new building addition, installing piles for the new structure, storm water drainage including two (2) underground detention systems, electrical service, water main service and sanitary sewer installation. Improvements include asphalt paving, several segmental retaining walls, pond expansion, sidewalks, site lighting, decorative ornamental fencing and landscaping of the new facility.
The College of New Rochelle's Health & Wellness Center

Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") provided the sitework necessary for the construction of a state of the art Wellness Center and Community Investment which included an indoor pool, gym and locker room facilities. The Community building consists of 55,000 gross square foot housing for an NCAA competition basketball court, two practice volleyball courts, Yoga Studio, Athletic offices and a conference room in the gymnasium. Etre provided all labor, equipment and material needed for site demolition which required rock blasting and rock hammering totaling over 8,000 cubic yards.
Prepared all subgrades for slab-on-grade for installation of walkways, parking lots, lawns and plantings. This project also involved excavating and backfilling for buildings and structures and the installation of all storm drainage, utility services, site furnishings and two storm water management systems. We also installed all concrete walks, pavement as well as LEED Certified stonedust pavement.
The construction of this building aimed to reach the prestigious LEED "Silver" rating certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Building "Green" in its most simple definition, is to create a structure that is in harmony with the environment and uses materials, water and energy in such a way that it does not harm human health or the environment. It also involves all aspects of a new building, from its design to the choice of building site, to the construction, operation and maintenance.
Dominican College Dormitory Facility

Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") was hired to do the sitework for a 400 unit dormitory to be completed in five phases due to stringent environmental concerns. The project involved installation of utilities such as sanitary sewer lines, water, and drainage lines as well as several large concrete box culverts. Dynamic compaction was also necessary rather than piles because the soil was not structurally sound to support the building.
PS79

Project:
Etre Associates, Ltd.'s ("Etre") project at PS79 under the auspices of the New York City School Construction Authority involved the meticulous demolition and removal of a 1 story building, including a basement at a depth of 25 feet below grade, and the construction of a new addition.
The excavation for the new addition involved, trucking in thousands of yards of fill for the preparation of subgrades, the placement of aggregate bases for slabs, walks and pavement, as well as for the backfilling of the foundations. As apart of the deep excavations, an extensive shoring plan was necessary. Along with the typical utility installations, the installation of a storm water detention system was performed. Etre also developed and implemented an erosion and sediment control for the duration of construction.

Quality Inn Plaza

Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") was the site developer for the ground up construction of a Quality Inn Motel, New York Sports Club, Physician's Offices, and Applebee's. This project involved extensive utility installations, thousands of feet of concrete curb and the installation of the base and asphalt for ingress and egress to the development as well as multiple parking areas.
Mount Vernon Retail Center

The 285,000 sq-ft retail development of big-box stores involves a 47,000-square-foot Best Buy, the chain's third Westchester store on the north side of Sandford Boulevard and three other retail giants on the South Side; Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and TJ Maxx. This project also involved the Roadway Reconstruction of Sandford Boulevard.
The Waterfront at Port Chester

The 27 acre Waterfront at Port Chester involved new retail stores: a Costco Wholesale Club, a Loews Cinema Complex, Super Stop & Shop, Michael's, and a DSW Warehouse along with a complete rehabilitation of a half-mile of the village's frontage on the Byram River. The waterfront component of the plan includes a half-mile long pedestrian promenade featuring interactive information kiosks and a planting and landscaping plan, plus a restaurant and 110 boat slips.
Pelham Manor Shopping Plaza

This project consists of construction of a number of retail spaces suitable for interior finishing by future retail and self-storage tenants, with its main retail space to be occupied by Home Depot. This 234,822 square-foot center will cater to the surrounding neighborhoods of Pelham Manor, Mt. Vernon, New Rochelle and the Northern Bronx. Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") provided the labor, material and equipment to enable the retail spaces to be constructed by installing the storm drainage, utility services, site furnishing and a storm water management system which included three vortechs units. While providing all the infrastructures, we also built a 6,500 square-foot redi-rock retaining wall. The project also required the widening of Pelham Parkway and U.S. Route 1. All aggregate materials from the demolition of the existing buildings was crushed and screened to reuse on the site. Four containment areas were constructed for storage of contaminated materials before removed off site, as well as the removal of approximately seven existing underground storage tanks.

Before breaking ground on the Eastchester site, it was known that environmental remediation was necessary due to the sites prior use. As a result, it was necessary to remove over 4,000 tons of environmentally contaminated materials and to excavate and remove approximately 900 cubic yards of rock. In addition, it was necessary to coordinate with the NYSDOT to complete 10 foot deep sewer connections across a White Plains Road, which is a New York State Highway.
Walgreens has expanded its retail stores in Westchester County, and Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") has been a part of that expansion. Etre was awarded the contracts for the new retail stores in Port Chester and Eastchester. Walgreens has strict specifications which Etre adhered to in all aspects of their work.
Hudson Valley Hospital

The Hudson Valley Hospital Center project consists of both new and renovation construction. The new construction consists of three additions to the existing main hospital building, one on the south side consisting of five floors, one on the north side consisting of two floors, and one on the existing roof of the second floors. The renovations include filling vacated spaces, relocations and expanded administrative functions.
Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") excavated and removed all existing utilities, pavement and ground floor demolition of existing buildings. Following the removal, we installed an intricate storm drainage system, utility services, which involved several tie-ins, site furnishings and installation of temporary and permanent parking lots.

("Etre") was chosen by Lasberg Construction, LLC as the site excavator in the ground up construction of Commerce Banks throughout Westchester County, including, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Hartsdale, Yorktown Heights, Port Chester and Mount Kisco. These projects all involved complete underground utility installations, rock removal, asphalt paving and concrete curbs and sidewalks.
Phelps Memorial Hospital

This project involved excavation for new parking garage and MSB Buildings. The project was completed in three phases in order to work in conjunction with the day to day hospital operations. Several excavations were in excess of fifteen feet in order to install new utilities such as water mains, detention systems, and sanitary sewer lines. Along with the resurfacing of existing roadways, thousands of tons of asphalt were installed in order to create parking lots for the new structures.
St. Cabrini Nursing Home

Expansion of the current Nursing Home Facility which included the construction of a pair of two-story 32-bed residential wings off the main building; and two new three-story wings on the west side (or river side) of the structure. The site work phase of the project included demolition of existing improvements, excavation for the pile foundation, installation of site drainage; including a 12,000 CF underground detention system and Vortech chamber, sanitary sewer service, electrical and gas service to the new addition, domestic water and fire service. Site improvements include redesign and paving of the parking areas, new concrete curbs and sidewalks, loading dock for the new addition, site lighting and landscaping work.
Canarsie Plaza

Canarsie Plaza is located adjacent to the densely populated, underserved produce market of Canarsie in Brooklyn. Canarsie Plaza will entail the construction of over 175,000 sft of retail space and include 500 parking spaces further enhancing an excellent retail opportunity. Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") will handle all underground utility installations including stormwater detension systems and all road utility tie ins. This project will also involve the removal of thousands of yards of fill in order to bring the site to the proper grade.
Hudson Harbor

Etre Associates, Ltd. ("Etre") was hired to complete the site work on this high profile waterfront project otherwise known as "Hudson Harbor." The site was initially an asphalt plant which is being converted into a mixed use development, including restaurants, retail, residential as well as acres of public parks. The project involved the implementation of the Site Environmentalists Soil Management Plan which necessitated the use of on site water tanks which stored the water which was then pumped through a water filtration system before discharge. Etre also installed over 4 miles of underground utilities and pipe. Due to the potential presence of hazardous materials, Etre's work force was trained in order to comply with the intricacies of CFR §1910.120.
